One of my most favourite types of Toronto engagement sessions is simply a stroll downtown. Bonus points if it’s in summer. I love unplanned sessions, lots of walking, talking, and discovering new places together. It’s the spontaneity of “Let’s check out this alley” or “Let’s duck in this cafe for a bit” that makes me more creative.
I had the best time with Rachel and Mike. They are truly a match made in heaven and just the loveliest couple to be around.
We started near Collette Grand Cafe and walked all over Toronto finishing up for a cocktail at The Thompson Hotel. Collette Grand Cafe, by the way, closed and is replacing all the Holt Cafes at Holt Renfrew.
One of my most favourite moments was when we saw a wall covered in ivy. Rachel and Mike sort of re-enacted the scene from The Simpsons.
I can’t wait for you to see their stunning wedding at The Arlington Estate.
So, here’s my advice if you’re having trouble finding Toronto engagement session locations. Go for a walk downtown. Trust your photographer to create the perfect downtown Toronto engagement photos.

I can’t get enough of shooting Brickwork Engagement Sessions. I shot one of the very first weddings at Brickworks. Since then I’ve been addicted to this place. I have many great memories from here including T.U.M – Toronto Underground Market. I was newly dating my man and he took me there where we bonded over an amazing celery root soup. I realize how incredibly boring that sounds. But I still think about the soup.
When I met with Jaspreet and Chris for their engagement session, I already had a sense of comfort and familiarity. What I didn’t expect was this awesome bond with Jaspreet. She turned to me halfway through the session and said “I feel we’ve known each other for ages”. I can’t tell you how good that feels when you just click. I just love this couple. After their session I was thrilled to spend an additional 4 days for their Sikh wedding and pre-events.
Burroughes Building Wedding Photography
Jovana and Gray’s wedding at The Burroughes Building was my first New Years Eve wedding. I can’t even begin to tell you how incredibly electric the energy was.
It set the tone for my whole 2018 which was the most successful and fulfilling year to date.
There are so many reasons I loved this wedding, and why it will always have a special place in my heart.
First of all, the couple – kind, affectionate, fun loving. They knew how to be present and have a good time, but it was their connection with each other that really stood out.
As a wedding photographer – I’ve said this time and time again. What makes a good wedding are the people. As much as I was obsessed with all the pretty details, it was all their friends and family that came together to make it heart felt and memorable.
They chose The Burroughes Building for their wedding because they use to host parties there years ago and wanted a place that was meaningful to them. They had their portraits taken in a private space. Their wedding ceremony and reception photos were taken at The Burroughes Building

Kiera and Luis’ late spring wedding at the Aperture Room and Osgoode Hall in Toronto.
Late spring is one of my most favourite times of the year. The air is warm with the faintest hint of crispness. Trees are blossoming and everyone seems generally happier that they can spend more time outdoors.
Kiera and Luis opted for a relaxed day focusing on family and friends. Their wedding at Aperture Room was intimate and full of laughter. As a result their pictures ended up candid, warm, and honest.
We took pictures beforehand at Osgoode Hall on Queen Street. They had their first look, their portraits and all the family photos Therefore they were able to be present with their guests for the rest of the night.

Carolina and Brian’s Chic Burroughes Building Wedding was Featured on Event Source.
ABOUT THE COUPLE
Brian and I met in grade 3. We were in the same class. We bonded as we were constantly in detention for not finishing our homework. We have been best friends ever since. Brian proposed in August of 2014 at the Distillery District.
He placed a love lock that he got custom made on the love installation. He asked me to look at one lock in particular and it had both of our names and the CN tower on a red (my favourite colour) lock, he asked me to turn it around and it said “Will you Marry Me?” When I looked over at him, he was down on one knee holding the ring. It was one of the best nights of my life. He had arranged for our parents to be together when we got home since he knew my parents would be the very first people I wanted to share the news with.

BURROUGHES BUILDING WEDDING VENUE
The Burroughes Building is a wedding venue located on Queen Street in Toronto. It’s a sort-after wedding venue for industrial style photography. Therefore, many photographers love this venue for artsy elopements and engagement photos.
Weddings are held on the 6th floor. Because there are two rooms, you have a variety of looks. One with the iconic Burroughes sign on the brick wall. The other room has white walls and the bar. But most noteworthy is the Toronto skyline on the 7th floor. It’s perfect for Toronto sunset photos.
TORONTO WEDDING DRESS
Catherine Langlois was the genius behind Carolina’s stunning wedding dress design. To this day, it remains one of my most favourite wedding dresses. Catherine was voted Top 10 Wedding Dress Designers in Toronto by BlogTo. Because I get to see designer dresses up close I get to see the care and attention that goes into it. Let me just say Catherine is nothing short of a true artist.
WEDDING PHOTOS AT OSGOODE HALL
Osgoode Hall is a popular spot for wedding photos in Toronto. It’s one of the only locations that doesn’t require a photography permit.
